Student loan delays are making it harder for women to stay in school

I just read about Mikiah Roberson waiting over a month for her loan money when she needed it for rent and her car, and it really hit home. In my experience, when you're juggling work, family, and school as an adult student, you cannot afford surprise delays like this. I found that many women going back to school are living paycheck to paycheck, so if your aid doesn't show up on time, you're looking at late fees, damaged credit, or worse, having to drop out. The colleges say they are working on new rules, but that does not help Mikiah pay her bills today. Has anyone else here dealt with loan delays? I want to know what you did to stay on track.
