How to explain going back to school to your kids
I went back to school when my kids were around that age and honestly the guilt almost killed me. What really helped was sitting down with them and being straight up about why I was doing it, like telling them this means better stuff for our family down the road. They didn't get it at first but after a few months they started seeing me study and asking questions, and that's when it clicked for them that mom was working toward something. The hardest part was accepting that I couldn't be everything to everyone all the time, and once I did that it got easier. Now my kids actually think it's cool that I'm in school and sometimes they ask me about my classes.
