This is why community colleges matter so much to people like us
I just read that three people stole 20 million dollars from a community college in Ohio and honestly it made me sick. That money could have changed lives, could have paid for childcare while someone studied nursing or helped a single parent finish a degree without drowning in debt. I went back to community college at 34 with two kids and it saved me, and knowing that theft likely contributed to that school closing just hits different. This is real money stolen from real people trying to build something better for themselves and their families. If you're considering going back to school, don't let this scare you away from community colleges in your area, but do ask questions about financial stability and accreditation before you enroll.
