Higher Ed Trust Problem - This Actually Matters for Us

I actually dug into this opinion piece from the Hechinger Report and it hit home. The core issue is that families are betting huge money and four years of life on institutions that aren't always being straight with them about outcomes, costs, and whether degrees actually lead anywhere. For those of us going back to school as adults, this is even more critical because we're not just risking time and money, we're risking our career trajectory and potentially our family's financial stability. The piece is the first in a series on transparency in higher ed, and I think we need to be asking hard questions about what our programs actually deliver before we commit. If a school can't clearly show you job placement rates, real cost breakdowns, or what alumni are actually earning, that's a red flag worth investigating.
