A college president finally saying what we all know

I read this piece and had to sit down because it hit too close to home. I watched my mom take out loans that are still crushing her at 62, and I'm doing the same thing right now trying to finish my degree at 34. What got me was that this is coming from someone inside the system who admits the costs have gotten completely out of hand, and I cried reading it because validation from people with actual power matters. The practical thing is we need to share this everywhere so the people making decisions at state and federal levels see that even college leaders think something has to change. If you're considering going back to school, know that your hesitation about the cost isn't you being weak or unrealistic, it's you being smart about a genuinely broken system.
