NIH blocking research grants based on viewpoint? this affects all of us

I have been exactly there, applying for grants and watching projects get rejected for reasons that never quite added up. If the NIH is actually discriminating based on what researchers think rather than the quality of their work, that's a massive problem for anyone trying to fund real research. Nobody told me this but when you're a woman coming back to school or switching fields, you're already fighting twice as hard to get funding, and if the deck is also stacked against certain viewpoints, good luck. This lawsuit matters because it could force them to actually justify why they're rejecting proposals instead of hiding behind vague "not aligned with priorities" language.
