FAFSA and independent student status confused me at first

So I'm over 24 and trying to figure out if my husband's income gets counted on my FAFSA since I'm supposed to be independent now. Does being married change how they look at our money or is it just mine that matters. I need to know before I fill anything out because we have different income situations. Has anyone else dealt with this.
